Because of the Patriots game, the show didn’t air on WCVB (Ch. 5) until about 1:45 a.m.

From comments:
"Because of Patriots game we were unable to view DWTS and unable to vote. I think this will make a difference in the voting. I like all the finalist and think they have done a great job. Anyone can win."

Dancing with the Stars: Season 13, Episode 19
Dancing with the Stars: Season Thirteen's Final Performances
November 22, 2011

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the three finalists pulled out all the stops to impress America in the hopes of winning the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. Ricki Lake, Rob Kardashian and J.R. Martinez each performed two dances, one of which was the all-important freestyle number where anything goes, except jazz hands, which always remain. This is dancing after all.

Let’s see how the teams fared in this season’s final round of competition:

Final standings: Rob and Cheryl win the night with 57 points, while Ricki and Derek and J.R. and Karina are tied with 54 points.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ Week 10: New York dance experts judge the contestants

Some of the most skilled pros in the city rate the stars solely on performance

BY Cristina Everett
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Tuesday, November 22 2011, 10:49 AM

The judges of "Dancing with the Stars" -- Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman -- sometimes judge with their hearts and not their heads.

Other times, it may be because a certain contestant is needed to remain on the show in order to boost ratings (cough, cough Bristol Palin).

With the help of some of the best-skilled dance pros in the city, each week we judge this season's contestants solely on how they perform -- did they kill it on the dance floor or do they have two left feet?

Mariana Parma has a B.A. in dance from Rutger's University and was the 2008 USA Tango Champion. She specializes in Argentine Tango and Salsa and once coached Chita Rivera in tango for her role in the stage production of "Venecia."

Steps on Broadway's Pamela Pribisco teaches ballet and was previously the rehearsal director for the American Ballroom Theatre Company.

Ney Melo specializes in the Argentine Tango. He originally was a Wall Street investment banker until the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 when he decided to pursue his love of dance full-time. Now a world-renowned tango star, Melo is the guest maestro at the upcoming Firenze Tango Festival and Zadar Tango Festival in Croatia.

*Due to personal matters, Ney Melo could not participate in this week’s column. As a result, the following scores have been calculated to show the contestants’ average score in relation to the number of judges.

RICKI LAKE
AVERAGE SCORE THE 'DWTS' JUDGES GAVE HER: 18
AVERAGE SCORE OUR JUDGES GAVE HER: 19

Mariana Parma: 10
Ricky danced the Cha-Cha-Cha. Since it is the season finale, Ricky shook it up. She had very clean footwork and great timing.

FREE STYLE: 10
Go Ricky!!! Wow that was great! She did a medley of all the dances, with some great tricks.

Pamela Pribisco: 9
Ricki’s performance didn't explode. It looked a bit choppy, but she danced it very safe. Still, Ricki sets a high standard with each performance.

FREE STYLE: 9
This was a more dynamic performance. The choreography was demanding with beautifully executed lifts. Well done.

Okay ~ 15 minutes to eat lunch and catch up with y'all.

Bottom line is I agree with Muffy and Cookie about the dancers (if anyone else was posting this morning, I missed it.  sorry.) . . . .

Rob has really risen to the occasion AND I am truly happy for him.  I think he's had to overcome so much, being in the shadow of his sisters, mother, and the Kardashian name in general.  I am proud and happy for him.

J.R. ~ well, y'all know how I feel about him.  My heart is just so happy for him, and what he has accomplished . . . accomplished without constantly bringing attention to his *history.*  Just seems so sincere and genuine and has a true joy for life.

Ricki ~ I don't know. . . but, with that non-committal statement.....I like her, too.

I'll honestly be happy no matter who wins .
For me, this is the first time ever that I will be thrilled for whoever wins . . .!

Feel like I've been to confession . . . can't wait to see y'all tonight!

'Dancing with the Stars' hits a serious low: Maybe you're not liking the finalists?

by Lynette Rice

Either folks are starting to head out of town for Thanksgiving or nobody really cares to see Rob Kardashian possibly win the mirror ball: Primetime shows were mostly down across the board on Monday, with Dancing with the Stars posting its lowest performance finale ever.

The episode featuring a dance-off between Kardashian, Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez posted a 3.6 rating/9 share in adults  18-49, down 27% from last fall’s part 1 finale (4.9/13 on Nov. 22). It averaged 20 million viewers. The action on the dance floor, in turn, delivered a bum rush to the new game show You Deserve It, which earned a 2.1/5 – down 13% from last fall’s Skating With The Stars debut. It averaged 10 mil. Castle, however, was up 13% to a 2.7/7 and lured 11.9 million.

Rob hasn't overcome anything in life.  He is a lazy young man who has led a priviliged life.  He has never had to worry about income.  His father left them his business and they sold it.  Rob is playing the poor me act.  There are always sibling rivlarys.  Rob has been on the same show as his sisters since day one.  He chose to get an education.  He has been living the high life all his life.

Quote
Kardashian, it seems, is almost wired for fame. A preschool classmate of Paris Hilton, she grew up under the glare and privilege of Beverly Hills, getting an up-close view of Hollywood's pleasures and pitfalls. Her father, the founder of Movie Tunes, Inc., a music and marketing company, was a prominent attorney. A close friend for many years of O.J. Simpson, Robert was one of the football star's defense lawyers during his murder trial. In fact, it was the attorney's home that Simpson left during the famous Ford Bronco police chase shortly before his arrest. Robert Kardashian died from cancer of the esophagus in October 2003.

Kardashian's mother, Kris, a children's boutique shop owner and TV personality, travels in celebrity circles herself. In 1991, two years after divorcing Robert, she married 1976 Olympic star, Bruce Jenner. The couple has two children together.

According to Kardashian, her childhood was hardly the stuff of stardom. Sunday church was regular part of family life. So was the expectation among the Kardashian children that, once they each reached the age of 18, living off the family dime was no longer an option. While attending an exclusive Catholic girls' high school, Kim Kardashian worked for her father's company. When he died, the corporation was left to her and her siblings. They've since sold it. "We grew up with privilege so we knew our standards were high...[and] if we wanted to keep it, we had to work hard," she has said.

Now JR Martinez is a person who have overcome difficulties.  Raised by a single mom, injured veteran, etc.

Okay monkey friends ~ I am having a meltdown . . .  my sister and wonderful BIL AND our son and his girlfriend (hopefully someday, wife) are all coming tomorrow instead of Thanksgiving morning . . . . they'll all be here between 2 and 3.  I am having a meltdown . . . oh my gosh.  Maybe I can just stay up all night.  Unfortunately, I have perfectionist tendencies, and they are in full force.

Well, now to settle down and watch the show . . . first things first . . . .
