KC is not going to like this one  She sounds young, has her life together, goes to school and is probably cuter.

Do jurors even discuss amongst themselves what their sentencing recommendation will be?  It's an individual decision so I don't see any reason to discuss this until they have all decided.

FTLOG - Now Finell said mercy is a good consideration.  I am sure Caylee wished she had some mercy.

Do they have to phase through ALL pj's in order to seat the jury? Or can they stop and send the others home when the reach the 20 needed? Seems to me they would have to go through all of them and then both sides can disqualify...just wondering, I'm no legal beagle and I'm not sure exactly how jury selection works. I am learning a lot thanks to the monkeys...

Thinking about the latest concerns regarding the jury selection process.....

I have served on jury duty in 3 states over the years, including one death penalty case. In each case, the PJs were in the room together but called individually for voir dire. After each one was questioned, the judge asked if there were objections by either side. At that time the PJs were accepted, excused for cause, or excused by peremptory challenges. In fact, I remember one case where all peremptories were used and the defense had to accept the PJ unless there was a reason for cause. In each case, after the required number were selected, the process stopped and those in the gallery or holding area were excused.

How is what Judge Perry doing any different, other than the PJs do not hear the questioning of others? Does this process vary depending by location or judges?

No legal beagle here either, but from what I understand, Perry's plan is to get 12 today. Then tomorrow, go through each one and if there are no strikes, those potential jurors will be sworn in.

Why is it called Victim Impact evidence if it can't be considered as evidence? Why do it if it doesn't matter?

I'm haven't gotten bumped off (yet), but the pages are beginning to load a bit slower.  Klaas turned off the attachments feature before the trial started and said they would remain off for the duration of the trial.

AS WE NEAR THE TRIAL - SOME HELPFUL HINTS AND SPECIAL RULES TO FOLLOW
STARTING MONDAY, MAY 9TH, 2011 - PLEASE LIMIT PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO ONES THAT ARE SPECIFIC TO THE CASE.  No JOKE videos and please limit JOKE photos.  There will be heavy traffic in the forum and it makes the thread too hard to load when it is over loaded with graphics.

I may turn off smileys and avatars if it becomes a problem.

Also - please try and "snip" quote stacks or just don't quote at all.  It will help make the thread easier to load.
