Natalee died like two weeks before I walked my blond daughter down the aisle. Hit so hard. Now she has her second baby. Makes me angry to think of what Natalee and her family will never have. Now Stefany. Pretty terrible, but they got him this time.

It certainly reads as if he has been charged with aggravated murder and robbery.  That's good news.  I think his offer to tell Aruban police Natalee's location is simply his last desperate gamble.  He sees these pieces of information as valuable items he can trade or sell, much like poker chips in a poker game.  All he has left is that last piece of information--Natalee's location.  Actually, his offer to tell this indicates how really desperate he is at this point.  It's his last chip--he's going all in.  I wonder if he knows yet that he's lost and the game is over.

Let's not forget how this all started.  He was gambling in casinos since he was 16 by his own admission.  If his parents did not let him or the casino kicked him out, Natalee would still be with us.  He was not yet 18 when he met her there.

Something else clicked in the back of my head.  IIRC Natalee's father had given her money which she had not spent yet.  I wonder if one of the motives of Joran that night was robbery.

I cannot see Joran's motive as being sex, after all, to get off all he had to do was stick it in a straw, but even that might have been too big.

Hi Msmarple!  Hat, it is good to see you, as always.  If you do a google search, you will find what you are looking for, it will lead you back to SM and the information you are looking for.  Some of us have difficulty with SM search even when it is up and that is what they do.

Joran probably would have killed him too. (I think it's a him.)

I think, after all, that Joran pulled off her jeans to make it look like a sexual assault while he was not in the room. Lots of problems with that, especially since he never returned.

As AZ said, he's not a criminal mastermind.

Joran hasn't had a reality check yet. Three meals a day, friend chicken, steak, cigarettes, reasonable accommodations thus far - I take it he's been at a police station jail, which would be an interim holding facility.

Much better conditions than prison, which is where he is spending his first night, tonight, if I correctly understand what's just happened.

They are moving him to prison tomorrow according to a few of the last articles.

In some articles I read, it appeared as she had Joran's shirt on over hers.  She may have used it as a nightgown of sorts, and took her pants off herself.  He is much taller than she is and the shirt would have covered her.

I think he slipped her something that made her much too tired to drive home and she wanted sleep.  He may have asked her to drive him to his hotel and she felt the affects of the drugs on the way, then he offered her a place to rest.  She may not have drank as much as others he tried this on, don't forget, he drugged others after a heavy night of alcohol drinking.  I think her adrenaline kicked in when he tried to attack her, and she tried to protect herself and this made him angry.  Then all hell broke loose.  She tried to run out of the room and he blocked her way trying to hold her hostage, and then she hit him.  I think he was used to girls who were more under the weather.

OMG!  She WAS dead when he went out for the coffee and bread!  He is in the striped shirt and comes out of the room carrying the coffee, closes the door, knocks on it and pretends to be locked out!

He was going to pretend he came back and found her dead!

This is unbelievable!  I stand by my previous assessment of Joran's acting skills.

I posted this Sunday night:

I have been wondering about the body language Stephany exhibited following that goon to his room. Her head bowed like that. Her father mentioned it, yes? That may be partially due to fatigue or the drugging scenario. I get some kind of resignation signals there - as if she suspects she has been hustled out of her money and is going through the motions of trying to recover it.

Then there is the space between the two as they walked. He was leading by much too long a gap for them to be a couple. Just my opinion.

Makes me think he hustled her with some financial computer related angle that required them going to his room where he had his laptop. Like showing her his online gaming account, for instance.

I was thinking he got her money away from her with a con and lost it gambling while telling her he was good for it via his online gaming activity. I think he may have hustled her this way and the physical conflict grew out of his psychotic reaction to not being able to pay her back or demonstrate financials he did not really possess.

If any of this is true there is a good chance his laptop will show activity related to online poker in the time frame of the assault.

Did he really go out for coffee at all? Or did he just pick up two empty paper cups he already had in the room and stage a fresh arrival? Did anyone see him at the convenience mart?

I always thought that he went out for coffee as a ploy; then he planned to come back and discover the body, as though someone had come in while he was away.

So if he really went out to get those coffee cups, why did he go into the room and then come out with them again?

And if he wanted a witness why didn't he make a big scene right after the aide let him into the room?
