Isnt it though!    I agree she didnt hire him for misdemeanor charges even though he may address those she obviously knows she's in much hotter water than that.

If not today ... then tomorrow or ... the next day ... a high profile defence attorney will come galloping in on a white horse.  Then the talk show circuit with the major networks will be where it is at.  Maybe book and/or movie deals.  Unchallenged platforms will be provided to Billie ... unchallenged platforms to further her agenda of protecting Shawn from implication in the disappearance of her daughter.  In other words ... the truth in regards to what Billie knows will remain forever elusive.  IMO

Monday, 2:15 p.m. Update:
According to the Snyder Daily News, an entry on the blotter at the Scurry County Law Enforcement Center Sunday afternoon stated a woman called and asked to speak to an officer on the telephone in reference to both Dunn and Adkins being together at the caller’s residence looking for someone.
The officer responding stated there was not a vehicle at the location and no contact was made.

Monday, 2 p.m. Update:
Billie Dunn tells KRBC's Jessica Reyes she has hired an attorney and is no longer able to speak with the media.

Dunn was scheduled to do an interview with Reyes at 3 p.m Monday and canceled.

Well she cant afford this guy so Im guessing he had to take it pro bono & I'll wait to hear that confirmed.  There is no doubt in my mind that ideas of "blood money" are on quite a few individuals minds...I cant help but be cynical after seeing it over and over.

However, I'm also wondering if Billie's meeting with Shawn Sat night is more what prompted Billie to get this attorney.   She had the opportunity to get a court appointed public defender by the judge for her misdemeanor charges, she declined to contact an attorney or have one appointed to her.   Could it be that Shawn already started talking?  or Could it be that Billie is about to?

One thing is for certain the hot water is now at a boiling point for both of them.

It appears that on January 19th ... Shawn had yet to inform his attorney that he had made a quick stop at his grandma's house in Dunn following his sudden departure from his workplace ... prior to driving to Big Bridge.

COLORADO CITY, Texas -- The lawyer representing the only named suspect in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn, Shawn Adkins, says that phone records placing Adkins in the vicinity of the Dunn residence early on Dec. 27, when he told authorities he was somewhere else, could be incorrect.

Fort Worth-based attorney Sidney Lyle told KTXS News on Wednesday that, in his own experience, phone records can show use in one area when the phone user was in a different location.

"Personally," Lyle said, "I've been in El Paso and had my phone records show I was in Mexico when I wasn't anywhere close to there."

SHAWN ADKINS: Well, that, the investigators asked me. They never asked which specific places I went. They go, “Where did you go Monday, when Hailey supposedly disappeared?”, and I told them I went to Big Spring, and that’s where I was at.

John Young, an attorney out of Sweetwater, will now represent her.
Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs tell us that Dunn told him she is no longer talking to either media, or law enforcement about anything, including her daughter's case.
