Dan's newest blog is disturbing...

We need to tell Dan that the Steve Croes that was arrested is not the one that did the book review for the Emergency Medical Training book.

Valencia Community College is in Orlando, not Miami.

There's some confusion about the colleges. I read Satish's (younger brother's) tickle page a couple of weeks ago when it was very different and it said he wanted to go to a college in the US. Could have been Valencia Community College.

But remember we found that the Intern. School of aruba where Joran went published that he'd been accepted at FAU (florida atlantic) which has campuses in FT. Laud and Boca Raton, FL and at St. Leo's -- a catholic college north of Tampa. but his CLASSMATE Max Arends had been accepted at Valencia.

this was when we thought THAT was the Max Arends the police had talked to. But we now think it was Maxito Arendsz (different guy) who worked at the Aruba Speed Shop and was a friend of Joran's who police questioned a few days ago. This because the Max's sister was on another blog and said it wasn't her brother. he hadn't talked to police.

The guy who was murdered with the slit throat in the graveyard was Renee Van Hannikan (Hanigem?). We don't have confirmation of the spelling.

Not really that unusual for kids to tell passwords to other kids.  Again part of the culture.  So  a friend or even a relative could be getting to those accounts.

Joran had final exams the monday he was out past 2:00 AM.  He did go to school that day.

No, I don't think he had final exams until later that week or the next week. I seem to remember (and will have to look for the school's posting of final spring schedule) that exams ran the next monday thru wednesday. Of course, with seniors, they may have had early exams because graduation was friday 6/10, i believe. joran was arrested on the 9th if I remember.
Poor boy!  Missed his graduation too!  He was IN JAIL!  Crying or Very sad

If Dad and Mom VDS are in any way directly involved - he being a judge in training would be the first to call for legal representation while they were being interrogated - doesn't seem to be the case from what I have heard.

Both brothers were signed in this week.  I guess to take down pictures.

Many people have been accessing these sites. I believe it registers no matter who visits. I doubt they are allowed internet access from jail.

I remember one of our friends from Aruba saying that attorneys are not allowed to be present during interrogations in Aruba.

By PETER PRENGAMAN
Associated Press Writer

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Aruban police questioned the father of a Dutch teenager held in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, hoping the island justice official may know something to help solve the mystery of what happened to the Alabama honors student, officials said Sunday.

Paul van der Sloot was questioned Saturday night, said Police Superintendent Jan van der Straaten.

"He was questioned as a witness, no more or no less," van der Straaten told The Associated Press. He declined to elaborate.

The attorney general's spokeswoman, Mariaine Croes, said witnesses are questioned when prosecutors believe they may be able to add something to the case.

Or you may have seen something more, but you are not a suspect or thought to be part of any crime," Croes said.

Van der Sloot, a judge-in-training, is the father of 17-year-old Joran van der Sloot, one of the people last seen with Holloway the night she disappeared. Three other men have been detained, but no one has been charged.

I don't think we can assume the parents are guilty of anything.

The "family" now has 3 lawyers. But....interogations in aruba happen without the lawyer present.

hasibokos today

Also we don' t think that speculating'on this case is going to help solve anything. We’ve been hearing so much stories: Sex trade (to South America), insurance fraud (family to receive 5 million on her dead), murdered, raped (then), buried (alive), drowned, disappeared willingly to start new life)..and so forth …The only story we’ve have not heard (yet) is that Natalee Holloway has been abducted by aliens. This is why we try to stick to the facts, because if we start speculating, there will be no end in sight

http://www.hasibokos.com/hbknews/default.asp?view=day&blogDate=6/10/2005

They do have a point.

Agreed, Chloe:

While it's great to discuss possibilities here, it's also important to keep a perspective.  Secrecy is poison.  The lack of public disclosure can cause huge problems and accusations that aren't fair.

who do you think is logging in from jail?

Kerin,

I don't think anyone is logging in from jail. I think their friends or family members are taking down things. Remember Joran's father took down his sites after he was arrested.
