I'm really pissed about that 66% increase in state income taxes.  REALLY PISSED!!!!!   

me too!! this is crazy! Illinois's unemployment is already high, wait till businesses have to close or lay people off because of this new tax~ it is a lot of money to pay for taxes..we are funding the fat cats' pensions and not able to fund our own any more!!!

Cookie, I just read that Wisconsin is lowering their tax rate and trying to lure Illinois businesses to Wisconsin.

Comfort food my Mommy makes me every Christmas and involved Kevin's (the pig) head and feet this year .  Once cooked and strained, meat picked off the bones it is then is poured in a dish to set in the fridge, tipped out and then sliced and eaten with rye bread and vinegar. 

  I forgot about Kevin.... I still about Norbert, Kevin Bacon never was my favorite. So nice your mommy makes it for you Northern. My comfort food is Tuna Casserole  my mom makes it for my birthday!!!

When do you get a new pig? You said I could name this years   

Usually end of March beginning of April .  Yes, you can name this years piglet.

Josef has a double ear infection. Had to have his ears packed with antibiotics today. I knew something was wrong and asked the girls to clean his ears yesterday. They said the vet needed to really look at them. But the good news is he has gained a pound and a half since the last vet visit, but he is still having belly trouble.

I hope Josef gets feeling better soon.

No it wasn't.

A lot if not all was filmed in Alberta.  Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, Fort MacLeod, Kananaskis that area in southern Alberta.  I have been to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and did not see a head smashed in or a buffalo jump, actually did not see any bufflao. 

I think Montana, where men are men and sheep are scared...

Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump???? That is really a place?  So there were no Jumping Buffalloes or Smashed Heads??? The name sounds like a Heavy Metal Band. 

Yes , Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump is a real place.  The Natives used to herd the buffalo towards a cliff and when they got to the edge what ever jumped over became meat for winter and furs for clothes.  There is a museum there now too.  Beautiful area. 

Seems like I have heard of it before, I have always wanted to go to that part of Canada, but only in the summer. My mom took my brother to the Calgary Stampede when he was in college. They drove and said it was the most beautiful place they had ever seen.

Hi all!  No way I can read back and catch up once again!  So just popping in!  Saw we were looking for places to CC to move?  Duh!?  Texas!  No sales tax, right?!  But if JSM and CC are interested .. W Lafayette is much like Chicago ... and close ... but minus the lake effect snow and crime!  And as of today ... LOWER TAXES CC!!!     And seriously ... Chicago is two hours away on interstate 65 ... 1 1/2 in the summer and 6 in the winter 

  Newfie is back!!! Texas is much warmer than W Layfayette, but I do love Chicago. Still don't understand lake effect snow  Glad y'all have lower taxes as of today. That is good news  Missed you Newfie.

You are most certainly NOT a bad fur mommy!  Marley gets ear infections ALL THE TIME ... and you'd think I'd catch all the warning signs by now!  Sometimes I do ... shaking his head more than normal ... and sometimes I don't ... smells like doodoo when he comes close!  ICK!  Had a human kid that I didn't catch his ear infections at the onset all the time either!

Mommies can't be perfect!  Fur or human!

Thanks Newfie, about a month ago, his ears were cleaned, he never shook his head, but I noticed him scratching them and looked in and saw black gunk. Now that you mention it, the smell. He got a bath and I thought that it was better. Poor Marley getting them. You have a good evening and sleep well Newfie. Thanks for the info on ear infections. I feel really bad I didn't mention it to his vet the last time he was there.  I just thought he stunk.

Been lurking about all of you taking the dogs out for a potty break.  Maybe most of them are lil pups that need the "leash" or supervision.  I have two mutts and an "invisible fence".  I would never trade the "fence" for anything in my life.  They go out and in and out and in - for their breaks.
