Could whatever the reason so derail the jury selection that it has to be taken elsewhere?

Wouldn't Jose love that to start all over!

Hi Anna!!!

Hi, Sunny!

This must be important to keep secret or the judge would have given the press a clue I think.

TruTV talking about Casey wearing black today, if that is any clue to what happened today.

Could be.  She's been wearing pastels this whole time, then all of a sudden in the midst of that, wear black?  Hmmm..

Cant stand that woman who was discussing that.  Casey's mood did not match her black top when she walked in this morning.   She was animated & involved, not depressed, withdrawn or upset.

I can't stand her either Capps!

when JP came back to announce he was adjourning court until tomorrow AM.. I thought that his voice was rather shaky, from anger that he was suppressing ...did you notice that?

I thought he might cry.

What IF JB has filed to have Judge Perry removed?  Would make him mad and KC would have to approve anything that was happpening that affected her defense.  JMO

Hi, Blue,

Sounds like something he would TRY to do but if he fails, he is stuck with a judge who hates him for the remainder of the trial.  He'd have to be sure of himself to go for that I guess.

Hi Anna (good to see ya back).  I agree but lets be honest here, KC is running this show and SHE is calling the shots.  Whatever she says goes.  JMO

Hey Anna! I think this judge has been watching very carefully his appealble actions -- the jury selection process was agreed to months in advance.

Maybe the discussion part with Casey was to ask her if she wanted to continue without Jose?  I dunno. . . .

Yep, that's what I heard on TruTV. It is her right (damn I hate to type that) to have her lead attorney there during jury selection.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Judge Belvin Perry ordered court to be in recess until Thursday morning after returning from lunch. A source tells WESH 2 News the sudden recess was due to the fact that defense attorney Jose Baez had fallen ill.

This doesn't make sense.....there has to be more to it....and we will proably never know the truth of all this.

ITA ..if Mason wasn't blabbing on his way out of the courthouse..we'll never know.

Could Judge Perry be wrong, Defense right?
May 18th, 2011 by Richard Hornsby.
Have no idea what happened, but suspect it was due to jury selection procedure. So could for once Judge Perry be wrong and the defense right?

Ironically named, Perry v. State, 675 So. 2d 976 (Fla. 4th DCA 1996), might hold the answer.

We find that the court did abuse its discretion in this case when it terminated voir dire before defense counsel had an opportunity to question all of the jurors individually. A number of factors have led us to this conclusion.

That's quite a possible scenario! That would stop the  proceedings in its tracks like it did today.

So just to speculate if it was a plea ...

LWOP wouldn't be much of a "deal" for Casey ... as I think that's what she would get anyway.  So the State would have to offer less than LWOP.

And seriously, if the State offers less than 50 or 60 w/o possibility of parole ... I'll be majorly pizzed!

So if they are unable to seat a jury in the time allotted, they will have to vacate the courthouse and take the entire proceedings elsewhere and start totally over.

Just because the lead defense attorney, who stands to benefit possibly from a new and different jury, has a cold.

thanks curly.... JP stressed that they had spoken to 200 jurors....I wonder if there is some reasonable limit

DiDimond Diane Dimond
My best guess #caseyanthony? Baez, as lead atty, is on his way to appeals court to protest jury select'n procedure. Plea seems out of Q now
