Haleigh Cummings: Nancy Grace to look at Misty's story

Nancy Grace will focus on the search for Haleigh Cummings next week.

The HLN host will concentrate on Misty Croslin Cummings, who was baby-sitting the child when the little girl vanished. The show promises exclusive interviews with Misty and her husband, Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's dad.

"What is she keeping to herself?" a release for the program asks.

Haleigh will be spotlighted at 8 p.m. Oct. 1 on HLN.

The latest in the search? A letter from a jail inmate, Kristina Renee Prevatt, who is a friend of Misty Cummings. Prevatt, who is in the Putnam County Jail on drug charges, says that Haleigh died when the girl took Oxycontin while adults were partying, WESH-Channel 2 reported. Prevatt says the child's body was dumped at a pond.

Terese Nieves, Haleigh's grandmother, dismissed this new information in an appearance on Grace's show last night. Nieves says the little girl didn't like to take medicine.

The Putnam County sheriff's department has dismissed the jailhouse letter as well. "It's a moot point with us right now," said Rick Ryan, the sheriff's chief of staff.

So she has to come up with 10 grand then.  Either that, or she sits in jail until trial.

Or, they lower the bond amount like they did w/Tommy.

But with this being a felony forgery charge - I'm going to doubt they'll lower the bond.

I thought high.. and yet, 'fugitive from justice' may play a part.

Remember it was reported that LE went to Lisa's house, they weren't home (or didn't answer door), so LE left his card in the door saying for her to call back.  Someone told LE that Lisa left FL the next day.  So she must have known that LE wanted to talk with her, before she left.

Seeking Justice for Caylee

« Reply #771 on: September 24, 2009, 05:54:02 PM »

To my monkey friends
I am no longer going to be posting here. I've enjoyed reading all your posts and respect all of your opinions. I have tried to help with any info i could gather and have offered my opinion on things as well yet it seems like every time i have offered to gather info or given an opinion that some did not agree with that I have been persecuted questioned as to my intentions and quite frankly accused of attacking posters and their personal issues. I do not feel I have ever done that and I am sorry if you do not agree. I no longer feel welcome here and so farewell. If I have ever offended any of you then I am sorry those were never my intentions and for some reason I keep having to defend that so like I said I no longer feel welcome posting here and I might stay as a lurker as I like the haleigh updates but for now I am no longer interested in debating personal opinions with posters. BYE

I hope you stay Penny

http://www.wftv.com/news/21102795/detail.html

"You think someone knows something?" asked WFTV reporter Kathi Belich.

"Absolutely and it's somebody right here locally," replied Chief Rick Ryan of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Ryan said that the letter written by Kristina Prevatt signed, "naynay" divulged a possible tip that Haleigh was accidentally poisoned to death by Oxycontin, while her father was at work and his girlfriend Misty was partying, is not the focus of their investigation.

And that a search of a pond at the Mondex development outside of Satsuma was done before the letter surfaced.

The letter claims a friend of Misty's told investigators that once they realized Haleigh had been poisoned, they put her body in a black bag and dumped her into a pond.

"That has been theorized. We have been down this road long before the letter was generated," he said.

Investigators also knew a long time ago that Haleigh's father had called Misty's cell phone twenty times the night Haleigh disappeared, without getting an answer, but only released the information recently.

They confirmed for Eyewitness News that Ron Cummings then called Misty's brother and asked him to go to their home to check on Misty and Haleigh.

Misty's brother just told investigators last week, after the evidence surfaced that when he went to check their mobile home, no one was there.

"Did he tell Ron that though?" asked Kathi Belich. "Didn't he tell Ron that no one was home?"

"We're not gonna get into the conversations back and forth," Ryan replied.
A number of the friends, who were supposedly at a party with Misty the night Haleigh disappeared, are or were in jail. And one of them was allegedly Misty's on-again off-again ex-boyfriend at that time.

   Go Kathi!

Thanks Trimm.

http://www.news4jax.com/news/21106617/detail.html

Channel 4 asked Putnam County Chief Deputy Rick Ryan about the letter on Thursday and the report on "Nancy Grace."

"We know about the letter," Ryan said. "There was some issue about draining of the pond. The pond was drained before the letter. Quite frankly, we feel like it's irresponsible journalism to put this on the air that this letter is the gospel.

"I'm very disappointed, and quite frankly, appalled."

When asked if the affidavit mentioned in the letter is true, Ryan said, "Again, we don't care anything about this letter, and we're not going to waste our time on it. Even if it was our theory, we're just not going to talk about it."

Ryan said every time something new, fact or fiction, surfaces, he gets frantic phone calls from Haleigh's family.

"Look at what it's doing to the family," Ryan said. "It's a rollercoaster ride for the families, and just because one or two TV shows says it is, doesn't mean that it's happening."

Ryan said police are still investigating with the hope that Haleigh is still alive.

"Basically, because of this irresponsible journalism, they killed this little girl off in the media," Ryan said. "We're still of the mindset that this child is alive, and we're going to continue to pursue it as such until we know. Otherwise, frankly, it's perpetuating more drama."
