It's after 5:00! Where's George?

Maybe doing another costume change?  Perhaps something more along the lines of evening attire?

Maybe he will put on his loafers.

mytime, that is interesting you spoke with Shirley. Shirley seems like a very nice woman.

She was strong and tough and didn't mince words!!

2 of things she told me were -  George did not throw his father through a plate glass window and she had no idea where Rick got them from.

And Casey was a good kid until 18 - 19 years old. Then she saw a big change.  She was aware that some "mental" illnesses don't show up until late teens, early 20's and was wondering if Casey suffered from one.  She was not in denial about Casey.  She also was disgusted with her daughter's behavior too but could not "reach" her.
I don't think anyone can reach Cindy, at this point anyway....maybe in time, but it will most likely be a long time in coming.

Are you still in contact with Mrs. Plesea? I so admire her and I really hope she is doing well. Her daughter, Cindy, is to her like Casey is to Cindy in so many ways, except for murder of course. Yet Mrs. Plesea faces life and deals with it in the proper manner. My heart really goes out to her. And do you know how her hubby is doing? Good thoughts and prayers go their way from me.

No, she politley told me she was told NOT to speak to anyone.  She didn't say who told her.  She asked me to call after the trial.  She knew there would be a trial.

I had just lost my own mother and I felt so bad for her.  I wondered who was helping her...but she said she was still very independant.  She said Al knew what was going on and watched all news about it.  At that time, she was getting her news from Nancy Grace!

Although, at that time, Cindy was not speaking to her, she was furious with Rick and vowed to stay loyal to her only daughter, the baby of the family.  Cindy's other 2 brothers were going to stay loyal too because they were "family."
Hi MyTime,
thanks for sharing this. You're a very kind Monkey to comfort her, I don't even want to imagine her ordeal.

I wish Shirley would be loyal to Caylee.  Shirley is loyal to cindy, cindy is loyal to casey, casey is loyal to casey.
Also, what is this "loyal"? I'd thought supporting, standing beside, etc. What are they the mob?

The Monkeys are loyal to Caylee.

Thank you NM - to be honest, I think I used the word "loyal" - Shirley may have used the word "supportive."   My mistake.  Sorry!!

Now I will skate off in shame!!   Monkey Devil!

MyTime - no shame.  I understand where you are coming from.  It is easy to see what could have been done better before things spiraled out of control.  Especially disappointing as sindy was nurse and georgie law enforcement background.  Those professions should have equipped them with  the tools necessary to see that intervention was needed.  But, as the old saying goes - love is blind.
Doesn't give them a free pass in their efforts to obstruct justice after the fact.  However, the sad truth is they might have felt they were doing the best they could, with the tools in their toolboxes at the time and they will live with the hindsight the rest of their lives.
Monkeys sure seem to have better tools in their toolboxes!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thank goodness.

Mytime and Fanny Mae, you both make very good points.  If you look back in my post history, I once told the story of my oldest sister.  She was a mess, she had 3 babies, one after the other and each time she chose drugs and a lying, cheating lifestyle over them.  My parents never even tried to get custody, they were just left with us to raise.  I was very young at the time but I do know that my sister had a social worker, we lived in California at the time.  She received food stamps and a welfare check, which is the only time she ever came home.  She was in and out, never gave the babies a second glance.  The social worker knew exactly what was going on and to the best of my knowledge it was just left as it was.  My sister was never in the picture and my parents were raising me and my brother, my little sisters, one only a year older than my first nephew and my nephews all at the same time.  My sister had very serious lying issues, she was like Casey in so many ways, it is scary.  To this day, her sons have nothing to do with her and I have a very off and on relationship with her.

The question I have to ask myself is do I ever think she was capable of murdering one of them?  Even knowing everything I have known, her whole life I would say no.  I know my parents never would of thought she was capable of such a thing.  They both loved her and forgave her until they passed.  She was their first child and she was very much loved, despite the pain and suffering she brought on our whole family.

I don't think lying and partying would of been enough to get custody of Caylee.  However, I do think if she had been held accountable for all of the stealing, some of it major, there might have been a chance.  They covered up her stealing major amounts from credit cards and checks from her grandparents.  If they were so interested in Caylee's welfare, why didn't they press charges and have something done?  They could of been building a case for custody that whole time.  They did NOTHING, they helped her live her life of lies.  Until it is proven otherwise I don't think that any family member had any part of the actual murder of Caylee but I do think they were in on the cover-up as soon as they got the car, if not sooner.  I had on and off sympathy at times for all of them, that no longer exists.  They have lied openly and have disrespected Caylee for too long.  Even if they all swore to tell the truth now, would any of us belive them?

Could they have done more to keep Caylee safe, yes, certainly.  Georgie admitted that he didn't think she had a job and I am sure it came up on a daily basis. They had money issues and they never wanted to see Casey's paycheck or expect her to pay for anything?  We know how Cindy is, she knew of this full time nanny and never spoke to her or checked her house for cleanliness?  I don't believe that for a minute. We will never hear any of that.  What went on in that crazy house will remain hidden forever.  Could they have known that Casey was capable of murder?  I doubt it, I don't think any parent can think like that.  I do think that Casey is evil, no matter what diagnosis people try to make for her, what she did was just plain evil.  I think looking in from the outside now and knowing everything I know, all of them were in some sick little evil world.  Something doesn't add up and I don't think we are ever going to know what it is.  The cover-up and lying from all of them is evil.  They know it, you can see it on their faces when they are lying.  Cindy does it with a smirk, Lee does it with defiance and Georgie boy does it by his sweet lil innocent me, put on.

They all make me sick, my only salvation is that the state has enough evidence to make this a death penalty case.  That means that even though with the sunshine laws, we think we know a lot but there is going to be soooo much more at trial.  Caylee will get justice but we will never get to know they why and I think that is what keeps us so enraged.

Should they have done something to protect Caylee, absolutely, would it have worked?  We will never know, no one ever gave her a chance.  If DCF did become involved and it happened anyway we would be blaming DCF.  For the murder of Caylee, no one is responsible except for Casey.  For lying and covering up evidence I believe Cindy, George and Lee are all responsible, will they ever be punished?  I firmly believe they will, we just won't know about it.
