Criminal Intent and Illegal Solicitation

Florida Bondsman and Private Investigator William E. Staubs told me Florida Attorney Kim Picazio asked him to falsely, and criminally, implicate Gregory Page to authorities in the Haleigh Cummings missing person’s case. Staubs told me he flatly refused. Staubs said he will take a polygraph on this matter.

I hope everyone has a festive July 4th ...

At some point during this July 4, 2009 when you are spending time with family and friends, attending a picnic, get together or family reunion, and watching fireworks this evening, please take the time to either read or contemplate what this day truly means and the words that were written in The Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776.

Do not ever forget that today is about Life, Liberty, Freedom and “We the People”. Representatives that acted by and for the people of the Colonies and a new nation at great sacrifice. I would ask of our politicians today … where are those brace men and women that cared more of the people, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness than they do about being reelected and usurping power?

Sorry that I have been so delinquent in writing on here, the days just seem to fly by. My wife Jan and I do actually have a life outside of playing. That life somehow has got us involved in three serious court cases. They have consumed our waking moments for several weeks. In fact it got so bad that Jan pointed out that is I didn't get my head out of them we would not be able to pay the bills.

Jan and I live day to day, I'd love to say paycheck to paycheck, but it is not true. We carve out an existence with $50 here and there. Plowing two people into a 16 hour a day investigation for a week has cased a huge problem. We have had to back off a little, just to pay the bills!

So folks, it is not that I have deserted the blog, I have just been more concerned with actual events rather than my idiocy.

Michael Tyre

Michael "Mike" Tyre, 68, of San Mateo, passed away Thursday June 18, 2009, at the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following a brief illness.

Mike was born in Florahome and had been a resident of San Mateo for the past 29 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in the United States Army. He was a retired meat cutter. Mike was a member of the Welaka Methodist Church where he enjoyed Bible study. He also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. Mike was an avid Gator fan who was a season ticket holder for the baseball and basketball teams and had attended all of the home and away games.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Oren and Nancy Mae Prevatt Tyre; and a sister, Nancy Yeomans Jones.

Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Belinda Beasley of Palatka; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dottie and Joe Scruggs, and Penny and Virgil White, all of St. Augustine, and Jeannie and Web Merwin of Palatka; beloved grandchildren, Stetson, U.S. Navy, and Leeann, of Palatka; four stepchildren, Harold, Jimmy, Shelia and Laura; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the Welaka Methodist Church with Pastor Erle Prevatt officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to the Welaka Methodist Church, P.O. Box 217, Welaka, FL 32193.

Masters Funeral Home of Palatka is in charge of arrangements.
