The same day Showbiz Promotions halted its plans, people were placing bids on eBay for another type of doll: a voodoo doll of Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, who is accused of killing the toddler.

Three Anthony voodoo dolls made by a New Orleans artist were on sale, with bids starting at $19.99 and $29.99, respectively. But by Tuesday evening, the top bid on one of those dolls had jumped to $61. That doll is accompanied by handcuffs, a Bible and white sunglasses, according to the description.

The Orlando Sentinel contacted the seller, who said via e-mail that the artist declined to comment. Sandra Lee said the artist wanted to remain anonymous, and they are close friends who met at a spiritual healing internship. They practice healing medicine in the Boston area through dolls and dreamcatchers.

Lee stated that they visited the Anthony family home in late November.

"We visit a location whenever we create a spiritual artifact. This enables us to practice the art of creating the spell," she stated.

"Without trespassing, of course, we captured what we needed in order to do our job."

this seems to answer why baez does not want casey in court.....


ORLANDO -- Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's attorney, has filed a motion to keep his client out of court during pre-trial hearings.

In the Notice of Objection, Baez tells the court that this case is unique and has generated a considerable amount of media attention.

Baez also said Casey's appearance in court "only fuels the circus-like atmosphere" and paints Casey in a negative light.

He also said the negative exposure will keep Casey from getting a fair and impartial jury.
An article from the Orlando Sentinel was also attached to the motion.

Casey herself also signed a Waiver of Defendant's Appearance document, which was sent to the courts. It waives her right to appear at Friday's pre-trial hearing.

Judge Stan Strickland ordered Casey into the courtroom at a Jan. 8 hearing, even though her lawyer said she waived her right to appear.

Meanwhile, an Emergency Motion To Recuse was also filed late Tuesday.

Casey's father, George Anthony, could remain in the hospital for several more days.



He had been sending text messages to family members threatening to kill himself, and wrote what some believe was a suicide note.

Anthony was held over the weekend under the state's Baker Act for an evaluation.

It gets me so mad that he calls it "unique", as though KC and his case are special and she/they deserve some sort of special treatment!! Give me a break, he talks like she's some celebrity or something (and they shouldn't get any special treatment either). What universe does he live in!!

What is he so worried about her appearance?? Again, is she "special" and when she comes to court it is somehow unfair to her that she looks like... a ... PRISONER?? Oh, Gasp!! How the heck is her "appearance" supposed to look?? I don't get this either, again, what universe is he in?? She is in prison because she's been accused of murdering her daughter, her precious child. Why is he so worried about her appearance in court? Is she supposed to be able to "dress up" and put on heels & make up so she looks like she just came from home? If he doesn't like the "circus-like" atmosphere he should get out of the big top because there is nothing he can do about it, and he's also a big contributor to that "circus"!

  Why doesn't he just stop crying and complaining and blaming everyone and everything else for all his "problems"? Why can't he just do his job and be a lawyer? It's just so rediculous all the motions, and complaints and finger pointing. Enough already!

qm, I feel your heat......he is sort of right though, the case does reak of sh#*....and they are the biggest unloaders of the stuff for sure.  It seems baez is attempting to make casey more important than she is...
She is only a 22 yr old girl, who has had her hand called, and being forced to face what  horrible thing she has done. She is not a  movie star, although some porn sites would dissagree with me on that.

Like most crime scene investegators though, I only can judge her from the facts, (that she left) for us all to see.  Do I like her, no, do I think she is innocent, >--> another no...
Do I think she will be convicted as she should be?? well, that one is still out of session for me.

ANd to tell you the truth, I am not really upset if the anthonys all sit in a jail cell together, and look into each others eyes, listening to the quiet, and asking Caylee, to forgive them for what they all have done. I would like to hear them beg Caylee for forgiveness.  Lets face it, the entire Anthony family is living in their own made hell.

No matter what they do or say now, I really feel it would be proper, even if it is just so they will allow Caylee to be laid to a proper respected burieal.
The truth has a way of showing itself, and anthonys are obviously bad liars.
Bottom line for me now, is to just bury Caylee. She deserves at least that, and not an imitation of her singing via a bootleg doll.

Good Morning Monks..old and new.....I took a step back last evening from anything about this case.....after reading about the A's wanting to have a service for Caylee at the jail with her killer...I was so angry I couldn't see straight...I swear if that is allowed to happen I will go to Orlando and protest in front of the jail and I  have a feeling I will not be alone!

So now the killer is receiving happy upbeat mail?  And I wonder where this information is coming from

BOZO is showing his AZZ gain I see.....yep let's just recuse the prosecution altogether let the killer just sit in jail and ROT just like she let Caylee lay in a plastic bag in the back of her car and in a swamp and ROT!! 

BOZO talks about a circus atmosphere...well he fits right into it being head CLOWN!!

Sunny my dear monkey friend, I will most happily join you in protest outside of the jail if this circus is alloud to commence.  I do not see the jail allowing this, as its a huge security risk, but there is always that small chance. 
I wonder if it would do any good to write letters of our disgust to the Warden protesting this idea and show our outrage.  Granted he is probably on the same page as all of us, but if he has to go before a board to have them deny this, atleast he would have some hard back up of support from citizens up in arms.

Morning Dolce!  I can't imagine it being allowed either.....what a precedence it would set.....accused killers all over the country being allowed to have services for their victims!  OHMYGAWD!  I think the audacity of the A's and Conway is beyond comprehension!!..but on the off chance it would be allowed I think it would make the protesters in front of the A's house look like a kindergarten class.....the cost of crowd control would be enormous. About writing the warden...who knows....at this point, from what I have read, the jail is stating they haven't received a request.  I do think a lot of emails to Kathy Belich will get a lot of attention   So, I plan to email her ...she is fearless

Can anybody give me a valid explanation as to why Baez would want to keep Casey from future court hearings? I mean, it seems that by doing so, it gives Casey a perfect excuse to come back at a later date and claim that she had inadequate counsel, and that they basically kept her from her right to attend? 

Also, (again proving Baez is a complete a$$-hat), how exactly does Baez think that somebody complaining to the bar about him, violates Casey's rights?  Anybody has the right to complain about anybody else.  Sounds to me like the State Attorney's office had/has more than enough reason to complain.  Baez actually thinks he's going to get the prosecutors off this case? 

Well, I don't know the exact answer to that, but I could give lots of possible reasons. Like he doesn't want her to know what is really going on, or maybe he doesn't want the public to see her for some reason. Maybe he's worried what she might do or say, or maybe he doesn't want her "family" to get to see her in person. I dunno, because I can't think of any GOOD reasons, just those reasons I mentioned. Much of what he does makes no sense to me, including this. He seems to think he knows what he's doing, yet to most everyone else it seems he doesn't have a clue! It's like he's just making things up as he goes along, and KC doesn't have a clue either!

Or, he could be helping her set up her (coming soon to a theatre near you) "ineffective counsel" motion. Or her insanity plea...she was so crazy, she wasn't able to participate in her own defense. Yeah, she's crazy like a fox...and he's just a dumb Bozo!

ya know, the late night visits from JB to KC at jail do not bother me too much - what does is the amount of times he is there. most attorneys bill by the hour - this fool must have a ton of time in the case. how much prep can you do with a person when the trial is not even scheduled yet? Are they watched while they are talking?  I know that the guards can not listen to them but can they watch?  If not, I really wonder if KC and JB are getting it on?  Yuck I know!!!

I think they  can be seen..the reason I say that is BOZO was cautioned twice about hugging her!!

I would have to say...if I were in jail, accused of killing my child and if I were innocent...I do believe I would go certifiably insane.  I know that I could not handle being accused of something like that if it was a lie, or if I was being "framed".

I think the reason Baez doesn't want Casey in court is because she will see how incompetent he is!  Plus, how embarrising for KC to see him scolded every other second by the judge!

Also, does anyone think Zeneida would go to any of the court hearings? (minus the ones she is involved in)

I agree...I am certainly not defending her in any way but I have real concerns that BOZO is not advising her of things she should be advised of....and I don't want any change of an appeal or mistrial!!

I doubt ZG will be at any hearings unless it directly concerns her  JMO

Blaze - great thought about the sticker book...hmmmm.  I would love to think that maybe there was a sticker book in the bag and the heart sticker just happened to come off and stuck to the duck tape.  I prefer that explanation of the heart sticker.....I still cant see anyone, not even Casey Anothony being evil enough to purposely put it there.  I'm not saying she didnt but I would feel better knowing she didn't.

I wish I could duplicate the conditions, and put a child's book in a bag with something oozing decomposition fluids and then submerge it in water for months, dry it out and expose it to heat and bugs, animals and vegetation.  I am willing to bet it would be unrecognizable by the end of six months.

I have often wondered if during his late night visits if he allows her to get online on his computer and IM family members.  I could easily see her IMing Mallorys screen name and talk to Lee. This way LE would have no record of the communication. Can you imagine the amount of info she could have relayed to him.  Hopefully there is something in place at the jail to prevent this type of communication that I dont know about.

Frustrating...I know... every avenue you go to take..to say maybe she didn't do it... stops you immediately in your tracks... she did it..and it bugs me that her family says otherwise.  Gosh!!

It is my understanding that they do not have internet (at least wireless) in the jail - but I guess that would not preclude him from having a Verizon type connection - and if the card for it is inside the slot no one would know .. . I also think that he could be carrying letters from her family (most likely Lee) on his laptop as documents and then she is dictating answers to JB so that communication can continue. I know if I was an attorney I would not take the risk of doing that but I would have also pled this case out so I guess anything is possible.

LUKA: Well, the problem is, Jane, we don`t know exactly what the police want to talk to him about. They have not come forward and asked me or contacted my client to ask him when they, in fact, want to talk about or if they even want to talk to him at all.

We are all basing this, basically, on this unnamed source within the investigation who is claiming that they do want to speak with him. What they want to speak to him about can only be speculation. As his attorney, what I have to do is anticipate any and all problems or any and all roadblocks that may come up down, you know, on this journey.

Jose Baez's emergency motion, filed late Tuesday, became the latest twist in the Casey Anthony case.

WOFL-Channel 35 explained the motion Tuesday evening, and other stations provided more details early today.

"In short, Jose Baez wants all the state prosecutors working on this case ... thrown off the case," WFTV-Channel 9's Mark Boyle said.

"He [Baez] feels someone's trying to discredit him, and in turn, hurt the case for Casey Anthony, " WKMG-Channel 6's J.R. Stone said. "Baez believes local prosecutors may be secretly trying to ruin his reputation and, while doing so, have hurt Casey Anthony's right to a fair trial."


Baez represents Casey Anthony, who is charged with murdering daughter Caylee.

He alleges prosecutors made an anonymous ethics complaint against him with the Florida Bar. Baez has said he wasn't responsible for critical remarks about prosecutors, which were made by his public-relations firm. And Baez has branded as untrue allegations that he has entertainment deals based on the Anthony trial's outcome.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer defended prosecutors, saying they had a duty to bring ethical complaints to the bar's attention. Sheaffer also said it was highly unlikely Baez would get to question  prosecutors on the stand.

WESH-Channel 2 reported that plans for a public memorial for toddler Caylee could be announced today. WESH also gave close attention to a story that the Anthony family hopes to reunite behind bars with Casey for a jailhouse funeral.

But in reporting that development, WESH seemed to shoot it down. A corrections spokesman told the station that a request for such a funeral was not likely to be granted.
