I left a comment in yesterdays musings and some monkeys came to my aid, thank you.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate the musings for the O/T and for the chit-chat, but I also wanted to thank you
for letting us check on each other and say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.  Not everyone is happy at Christmas and not everyone is happy every year, so it's nice that we are allowed to pop in and say, "Hey, how are you doing?"

Merry Christmas again and sorry for the O/T.

Carolyn, I think it was you in the musings that had a sick dog. If it was how is she doing? If not, sorry, but Merry Christmas. If it was you I prayed the baby is well.

I've always loved that picture!!

I love deer. I live in the Catskills and have made friend with many. The winters are rough here and I have hay and sweet feed down. They still hit the bird feeder though. This guy stays close.

How awesome. Deer are beautiful. Does it really come and eat from the bird feeder? They always hung out at the golf course at night where I lived way in North Texas. No hunters bothered them so they had the run of the place.

I love working on avatars for monkeys here. I have even worked on some St Patrick's Day ones. LOL I find it calming and a way to contribute to those who like using them.

Our Christmas is now officially over as well, and although it was low-key, I loved it.

CBB I had a great Christmas 

I'm wondering what the New Year will bring in regard to the continuing investigation and upcoming trial in Caylee's death.  I honestly didn't think she would be found before this year was out.     But am grateful Caylee has been found and can be laid to rest.  And of course, there will be evidence from the recovery, which I hope will assist in justice for Caylee Marie Anthony.

I haven't been a member of this board very long, but I sure am glad I found this board and all the monkey friends on it!

I would like to speak to any of the monkeys that might feel a little lost or broken during the holidays.
 
I struggle during the holidays because of holidays past, both good and bad.  I finally realized, after being sober and cleaning up my life over the last couple of years, that I needed to recreate what the holidays mean to me.  It's a work in progress but for me I needed to stay away from all the commercialism and keep things simple.

And as a recovering alcoholic, I am very careful to limit the situations that I am in during the holidays.  (After all, I think there is dysfunction in most of our families.)  I always need to feel that it is ok to say "that's enough" and go spend some time alone or go to my meetings.

If you are a monkey or guest monkey struggling with this time of the year, I understand.  Please take care of yourself, especially if you are struggling with depression and or addiction.

If for any reason, the season turns you off because you don't believe in a higher power, ask yourself who made the glorious sky, the gentle rains, or the sun above.  Don't put a name on it, but whatever it is, find comfort in it through nature.

During this holiday season you are not alone.

To lighten this all up my friends, I have one more thing . .. something that has been mentioned here and there for the last few pages and always makes me smile . . .
