NRCG,I hope your daughter has a great birthday.
My son was born on New Years Day,so it was always 2 celebrations back to back.I still make a cake and try to do something special.   

Going to check out the threads,see you in a little bit.Hubby is home now and he will not stop talking.   

Morning Trimm. Hope you got the tree in the box yesterday and hope everything is going well with your friend. I prayed for her yesterday.

I'm getting angrier by the minute with this 23 year old on that plane that was trying to blow it up. The system in place didn't work at all, and so I guess part of the duties when buying over priced plane tickets, with all the frills gone now when you fly, is also to dive over seats to thwart an act of terror. 

No Rose, I was just thinking the same thing while I was watching about him on Fox. WTH, the guy's own Dad turned him in and nothing was done to keep him off a plane.

JSM, I just love to read your post. I sit here and just laugh. You make me feel like I am right there with you. I agree with you about a rental swimsuit...no way, no how. But I bet the hot springs would really help your knees. I would sure try them if I had the chance.
I need to get a few things done, so will be in and out today. Hope everyone has a great day.

This is an unbelievable mess, and I didn't realize until watching the news that Nigeria was an oil rich nation, so I'm sure we may not do anything because of that.  Don't want to get the Nigerian people upset, would be my guess.

My mom gets so mad at me....I have different views on life than she does.....My favorite saying is Who Cares, In the grand scheme of life what does it really matter. When Entertainment Tonight comes on I flip the the tv off.. If I had those peoples money  I would find me a place to sit down and STHU.lol

Hi Monkeys - hey where did everyone go???    I was catching up and poof you all disappeared.  Oh well I am still in relaxed mode and did very little today.  Ahhhh.  I see we are talking a bit about airline security - I went to Alaska 6 years ago to visit my dad and I was one of the lucky ones that was pulled aside and searched - heck I even had to take off my shoes and socks, I am a blonde with blue eyes I have always wondered if they randomly select or if it is done by a count (ie every 25 people) but it sure is interesting.  Tevye my dad lived in Anchorage - is that where your son lives?

Mission, I've been off checking into a  pardon. Aiaiaiai, this is gonna be fun- not! I have to make sure that what happened in Canada stays in Canada. It may be that a little red flag will go on my US record (which does not exist, I'm a perfect example of a crazy ol lady!), but it may make my jail admin curious and goof up my internship and possible job. Carp! Oh well, I wrote to an RCMP paralegal in Canada for advice...we'll see.

My kids live in Wasilla. They hate driving to Anchorage....all that distance, and only one road! Everytime there's a rock fall, or avalanche, or even a two-car crash, the highway is closed forever. They need to build a bridge across Cook Inlet!

All I know of Anchorage is the Ted Stevens Airport....the most beautiful one I've ever been in. When the kids were in Fairbanks, we drove down to Valdez, that 's as far south as we sight-seed. (I was more interested in northern AK< I loved the desolation around Fairbanks! I am SO weird!)

The roads are definitely a bone of contention in and around Alaska - you are right it is one road and it is only 2 lane - I was amazed at how long it took to get around up there but that is why I think I like Alaska - slow paced and relaxed. If you are weird for liking areas like Fairbanks or even Hope for that matter - you aren't alone. 

Now about your working on a pardon - let's hope what happened in Canada stays there unless of course could it be this happened when that person stole your identity????  LOL all kidding aside I hope the paralegal will get back to you and tell you you have nothing to worry about......I am pretty familiar with crazy ol ladies I have done some pretty wild things in my life - thank God I never got caught.

"It's a high explosive; it's one of the more sensitive things to handle," said Jimmie Carol Oxley, co-director of the Center of Excellence In Explosives Detection, Mitigation, Response and Characterization at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston. "But it doesn't initiate with a flame."

  Hi Darla. We went to see if they sold swimsuits and they were $70, then they told us the rent them for $5, and explained how they washed them in bleach. I don't care if they washed them in boiling acid, I am not getting in a swimsuit that someone else has worn. 

I bet the springs would make my knees feel better, but they aren't bothering much in the cold, my toe I broke is the only joint that seems to be bothering me.

JSM tell us about the day so far 

I just woke up and got on the computer, I am having a hard time keeping a connection.

We are supposedly going to go skate today. My brothers gf seems to be the one setting plans and they keep changing. I think we are skating today, after that I don't know. I don't know when we are going skiing. They are riding the hot air balloon tomorrow, then after that I don't know what we are doing. So, I am just waiting around smoking ciggies outside, drinking coffee inside and talking to my monkeys.
