Oh, and for anyone else going thru cancer and baldness (honestly, I'd rather have cancer than be bald, I'm so vain!) call your American Cancer Society. Ours has a wig bank, with free wigs. I'd put off going there, cos I thought they'd just have old lady wigs. Boy, was I wrong! The first wig out of the box was my hairstyle, just a little lighter blonde. Took me all of 2 minutes to try it on and say "Thanks, I'll take it!"

Oddly enough, my oncologist's office didn't refer me to this resource. They sent me to a snoot wig shop (snooty as in attitude, their shop is just a hole in the wall..and if you walk in and say "I don't want a full wig" they don't want to help you, I call them Crusty Creations!). so, yesterday at chemo, I told all the ladies there about the AM Cancer society place! And today, when I went in for my shot, the nurses complimented me highly, told me I looked just like before!!! Ahhh...that's all I wanted to hear!!

Tevye if you are still here and haven't gotten any tums or such - drink vinegar - yep vinegar - it is supposed to help if you don't throw up first - I can't imagine having to do that but a friend of mine has acid reflux real bad, we were camping once and she ran out of tums so she drank some vinegar
I'll tell my husband that tip, thanks, never heard of that before

Thanks, Mission. I've already been to the haircut lady (bangs trimmed on my new wig, I look like me again!! and it fits!), doctor for the Neulasta-it'll-kic-yer-asta injection, and Walgreens for Rolaids and paper cups. I'm going crazy looking for the little anti nausea bracelets my best friend's daughter and all her friends used for morning sickness. I'm not feeling queasy, maybe I won't this time...but I don't want to go thru that.
But, I always have vinegar on hand, I clean with it. Thanks for the tip!

The accupressure ones?  Pretty sure they're called bio bands.
Thanks, Bud's girl. My friend gave me two, and they're lost beneath the scarves and icky wigs and med bottles. I want to put one on before I take my nap, I hate waking up queasy!

Awesome news about your wig.  I hope you find the bracelets - anything that will help ease the side effects is worth it, I pray you get through this session with little discomfort.  an angelic monkey

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas.   I've read back a little but still waayyyy behind.

Green Eyes - sorry about the little kitten.  That's really sad.

JSM - thanks for sharing your photos with us.

Darla - thanks for the dlife website link info.

Trimm - glad to read over at the prayer thread that your dad is doing ok.

NoRose -  I hate the cable company.   I used to get stood up by those jerks every time so I start calling them about 10am and ask them every 30 minutes when they are coming - so now they come just because they get sick of me.   I've learned this is how you deal with them.   Bug the hell out of them.    Or they will bug the hell out of you.

Tevye - sending prayers.

Mission - I keep missing you.   I bet you had fun getting snowed in.

Northern - thanks for the stew recipe - and the cheese biscuits.   yum.

Brandi - loved the Christmas card you made for us.

Everyone - Hope Santa was good to each and every one of you.
My hubby has been on vacation from his job -  and the holidays have worn me out.    I could use about a 3-day nap.
My daughter got feeling better and brought my little granddaughter down to see me.   She's so sweet.   She's laughing now and is so precious.

Sassy!

So good to see you. I missed you!

So happy you got to spend some time with your now-laughing little granddaughter!!!

Although the holidays wore you out, I do hope you enjoyed them!

Good Morning Monkeys.
Thanks for posting the photos JSM.
Good Morning Trimm. YVW for the pics. Not sure what we are doing today. Hope you have a great day.

Hey JSM!

Loved, loved loved the photos yesterday!

So sorry to hear the balloon ride was canceled. I was looking forward to more photos. LOL

When I lived in Connecticut, we had a good sized pond and I ice skated there a lot. When we had snow, I just took a broom down there and swept the freshly fallen snow off. But of course, it had to be not a big snow. You reminded me of that when you said it snowed last night. I hope you find something awesome to do today!

My best friend here before she moved, I use to take care of her dog Brandi when she would go visit her daughter, a very lovely dog. She was very ill and she had to put her down. She couldn't afford to cremate her and bring the ashes home and had to leave her there. She did not have a backyard where she could have buried her, she was in the process of selling her home

How sad. This place didn't have the option to leave them, it was either cremate them and get the ashes or take them home. Like your friend I couldn't afford to cremate her ar least what they charged. Thats what got me. What we lived in an apartment had no place to bury her. I don't know why it should surprise me. It seems it's all about money for every thing now days.

BBM ... seems that is way too true, Green Eyes.

I am so sorry for your loss and your having to deal with an expensive emergency vet. It is heartbreaking.

do those  bracelets work for nausea of any kind or only from the effects of chemo?
my hubs gets nauseated frequently and if they help then I will get him one...not sure what causes his nausea except for his diet perhaps....

Tevre, glad that you got a wig that you like..that is so important! a friend of mine who went through chemo had a wig cut to her hairstyle before she lost her hair..she was prepared....sigh...sorry that you are going through all of that....

The best outdoor skating is at night, when it's gently snowing big fat flakes, there's a PA system playing music, and you're ice dancing with the guy you have a crush on. It's 7th grade, and the only thing that spoils it is the massive wipeout you take when you hit that big crack in the ice because you were skating backwards and watching his eyes and not your feet!!!! Ah, good times!

I found my skates during the big ramp up to Christmas, I'm going to try them one more time with the toe pics on, and if they still bother me, I'll have DH file them off. It's not like I do jumps and need them, I just do spins and glides. But mostly spins....I love to spin till I fall down.

Cookie, I think they work for any kind of nausea... my friend's daughter and all her friends used them for morning sickness and swear by them. Now if I could just FIND them! Monkey Devil!

The man appreciated me calling, and I hope I did the right thing. Then I thought for a minute maybe I'm interferring and it isn't that couple with the two dogs. But I know it is, there are others around here with two dogs, but not one large brown golden retriever and one small black dog. Roxie the retriever is a sweetheart always kissing, and the black one was okay for awhile, but is now on the mean side. Zoe and I had a problem with the small one months ago, the little dog has become protective of Roxie and doesn't tolerate other dogs around. It's like a zoo around here

No rose, I think you did the right thing and wish there were more people like you in the world!
